PFS works with clients to define and deploy a tailorable set of change management approaches and tools across a broad range of implementations. PFS’ approaches are based on three key principles: 1) using the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®) derived processes, templates, and tools; 2) applying Prosci® change management methods and tools; and 3) employing best practices and lessons learned from similar change management initiatives.

PFS has worked with clients to plan and manage workforce requirements and innovations, including:

Expanding and enhancing Veteran health services, women’s health services, oncology/cancer care, pain management/opioid safety, mental health/suicide prevention, dental care, emergency response, and care for Veterans living in rural areas
Working with the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Primary Care (OPC) to evaluate alternatives and deploy changes to the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) models.
Developing a transformation plan for the VHA’s Employee Education System organization by conducting a current state assessment, benchmarking, setting the vision for the future state, and establishing a roadmap and implementation plan.
Providing training and communications support to the VA Office of Nursing Services (ONS) related to the modernization of the Nursing Qualification Standards. The training reaches more than 113,000 nursing personnel nationwide.
Supporting Informatics Workforce Stewardship (IWS) investments in standards of service, training, and guidance for VHA’s 1,800+ practicing health informatics personnel. PFS provided resource management, strategic communications, program governance and professional development programs for VHA’s informatics workforce to promote engagement across VHA program offices and Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs) and supported the implementation of standard work products into VA’s clinical practices, to include enterprise-wide standards of care across the VISNs and VA medical facilities.
Deploying staff to provide direct onsite support in the deployment and management of VHA’s P&LO 24/7 emergency Logistics Operations Center operations during the onset of COVID-19.

The newly established Clinical Deployment Teams to address emergent healthcare crises across VHA (nationwide)
A mini-residency program to provide Clinical Skills Training for rural providers of women’s healthcare
Nationwide expansion and enhancement of the National Oncology Program’s Precision Oncology services (e.g., pharmacogenomics, lung cancer screening, women’s health, virtual tumor boards, chemotherapy/infusion therapy services, and clinical trials)
Rapid growth of the Office of Connected Care’s digital health technology portfolio (i.e., Telehealth Services, My HealtheVet, and Web and Mobile Solutions) that enhance and improve access to VHA benefits and services through digital health technologies used by Veterans, Caregivers, and health care providers.
